Attention was focused on the sea today after overnight gale force winds. The
highlight offshore were the first Pomarine Skuas of the spring.

133 Common Scoters west, 5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 8 Red-throated Divers east, 1
Fulmar west, 7 Manx Shearwaters west, 30 Gannets west, 1 Great Crested Grebe
east, 2 Pomarine Skuas
west - single pale morphs west at 10:38 and 12:20, 3 Arctic Skuas east, 1 Great
Skua east, 52 Kittiwakes
east, 200 Little Gulls, 5 Sandwich Terns west, 1 Common Tern east, 17 Arctic
Terns east, 3
Guillemots west, 1 Razorbill west and 13 Auk sp. west.
Further observation during the evening produced 500 Common Scoters, 4 Manx Shearwaters west, 6 Gannets west and 10 Sandwich
Terns east.
